WHY DO WE DO THIS?
At Biji Bumi, we believe that we have an impact on our environment. The effects of climate change is clear from the dwindling longevity and quality of the durian seasons each year. This is why adopting sustainability as our core value becomes a necessity, so as to protect and preserve the indigenous lands and its produce.
Meet Our Partners
Native Discovery ( Native) is a social enterprise that co-creates business ventures with Orang Asli communities. Biji Bumi is one of their first sister ventures, and together we want to bring the best of Orang Asli culture to the world. Native runs tourism experiences, cultural discovery programmes and indigenous dining experiences on a weekly basis.
During COVID-19, we realised that as many stayed home, the number of single-use plastics in takeouts and food deliveries increased. Not only harming the environment, single-use plastic tableware poses severe health risks in the long run too.
With takeout and food deliveries not going away anytime soon, we saw this as an opportunity to help businesses make that transition towards reaching sustainability goals by providing compostable products. Based in Malaysia, the country that ranked eighth in the world for mismanaged plastic waste, we are determined to eliminate plastic waste and create viable economic, environmental and societal value to our country and beyond.
This is how Circlepac was established.
